Abstract

Studies on the influence of understanding and practice of Islam are significant in identifying how Islamic teachings can be the basis of improvement in work performance. This study is focused on professional and administrative officers in a Public Higher Education Institution. Research methods used are quantitative. The analysis was done using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the help of PLS version 2 software. The findings showed that there was a positive relationship between the practice of Islam and the work performance. It illustrates that professional and administrative staff, especially in Islamic-based organizations, should adopt Islamic teachings more sincerely to improve their excellent performance.

Abstrak

Kajian berkenaan dengan pengaruh kefahaman dan pengamalan Islam adalah sangat penting untuk mengenal pasti bagaimana ajaran Islam boleh menjadi asas untuk peningkatan dalam prestasi kerja. Kajian ini adalah tertumpu kepada pegawai profesional dan pentadbiran dalam sebuah Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Awam. Kaedah penyelidikan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengguna kaedah Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan bantuan software PLS versi 2. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang positif diantara pengamalan Islam dengan prestasi kerja. Ia menggambarkan kakitangan dalam sesebuah organisasi terutamanya organisasi yang berteraskan Islam perlulah mengamalkan ajaran Islam dengan lebih tulus bagi meningkatkan prestasi kerja yang cemerlang.
