Abstract

Every individual experiences pain. Every patient needs treatment. Usually, Islamic medicine’s practitioner or healer treats patients based on belief, knowledge, tradition and surroundings. Prophet Muhammad SAW applied few methods in treating himself, family members and friends. He also taught and encouraged his family them to follow his Sunnah. This research aims 1) to examine the effectiveness of prophet’s treatment on patients, 2) to identify the existence of medical techniques that are more psychological friendly, safer and saver compared to conventional medicine, 3) to identify some medical institutions in Malaysia that still apply the Prophet’s legacy in the modern era of medical development, and 4) to express that some methods are subject to research and examinations which are suitable with surroundings, and time change. This research is based on experience of the researcher as Islamic medicine’s practitioner and his contribution in prominent Islamic medicine’s organization in Malaysia  and as well as research on both texts; the Quran and al-Sunnah. The study found no criticisms on various medical methods except for the use of various herbs. Based on the treatment experience, there are dozens of cases of healing of patients’ through the use of herbs highlighted in the hadith but there are also dozens of cases of healing of patients due to the use of local herbal ingredients.

Setiap insan pasti mengalami sakit. Pesakit perlukan rawatan.
