Training Programs for Basic Education Schools Principals: A Perspective of the Province of North Batinah Managers in the Sultanate of Oman

Abstract

This quantitative research aims at diagnosing the reality of training programs for principals of basic education schools in the governorate of North Batinah in the Sultanate of Oman, from the managers’ perspectives. A questionnaire was designed to collect data, consisting of (41) items in (4) areas. The study population consisted of (160) managers in six states. The study sample consisted of (140) managers and managers. The findings revealed that the averages of the estimates of the sample members were mostly low, in all areas of the focus of training programs for school principals. The researcher recommended reconsidering the overall system of training school principals, focusing on practical aspects and skills to meet actual needs.

الملخص

هدف هذا البحث الكمي إلى تشخيص واقع البرامج التدريبية لمديري مدارس التعليم الأساسي بمحافظة شمال الباطنة في سلطنة عمان، من وجهة نظر المدراء. استخدم المنهج الوصفي، وتم تصميم استبانة لجمع البيانات، تكونت من (41) فقرة تندرج في (4) مجالات، تكون مجتمع الدراسة من (160) مديراً ومديرة في ست ولايات، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (140) مديراً ومديرة. دلتْ النتائج: أن المتوسطات الحسابية لتقديرات أفراد العينة جاءت معظمها منخفضة بدرجة كبيرة، في جميع مجالات محور البرامج التدريبية لمديري المدارس. أوصى البحث بإعادة النظر باللنظام اللحالي لتدريب مديري المدارس، والتركيز على الجوانب والمهارات العملية لكي يلبي الاحتياجات الفعلية.
